FEBRUARY 2025

“Focusing on the needs of Care Partners” through the eyes of those with partners in the early, middle, and late stages of Parkinson’s Disease. Moderated by Audrey Trautwein, a panel of Care Partners speak from the heart about what they’ve learned. Each of us, those with PD, and those who love them, have their own way of dealing with the situation. We finish up by singing the Care Partner’s Journey for you. Julie Lorraine speaks about the importance of self-compassion and saying “no” when feelings of guilt creep in. Sue Day speaks about this and the importance of finding one’s own supportive “tribe.” Katherine Bell describes the ways that she and her husband have been able to continue living a full life together. Alexandra Florimonte encourages you to not put off those difficult life discussions, including discussing each person’s language of love as Parkinson’s progresses. Barry Marks, who’s had Parkinson’s for almost a dozen years, shares his feelings about being the person who is cared for. See the video here.
