Santa Cruz Parkinson's Community
Welcome to our community website!
Just like almost everything in Santa Cruz, our county has a unique and vibrant community providing support and activities for people with Parkinson's Disease. For nearly 20 years the Santa Cruz County Parkinson’s Group has been the center of social and educational programs in the PD community.
Our all volunteer organization offers:
Monthly meetings which feature presentations related to living with and understanding Parkinson’s. Meetings provide the opportunity to socialize as well as share information and life experiences.
Tremolos singing group which provides voice strengthening tailored for those with Parkinson’s.
Peer-support group for both those with Parkinson’s.
Peer-support group and activities for Care Partners.
Information about community based exercise programs tailored to those with Parkinson’s.
Monthly Movers & Shakers newsletter which contains time and location of above activities, and articles about Parkinson’s.
In 2015, the PD community gained its own 501(c)3 not-for-profit called EASE PD to further strengthen our PD community. Then, in 2018, the Santa Cruz County Parkinson's Group and EASE PD merged, to better provide support to People with Parkinson's Disease (PwP) in Santa Cruz County.
Important steps in living well with Parkinson’s are to be informed and engaged with others. Joining this community is a great way to start!
